Custom field types are types of questions that can be used when building a form within QUOODA.
Please note - that field types marked with an asterisk(*) are not available on the mobile app. If you add this to your form it will only show when the form is being filled in on the desktop.
Alert Text
This will display a red alert message within the form, useful for bringing attention to a certain instruction or area.
Association*
The association custom fields type allows users to associate the form to a particular entity on the system, for example, an assessment or adverse event. It is recommended to put this on a tab on its own. If you need information on creating tabs please see the creating and amending checklists article.
Calendar
The calendar field allows users to add a selectable date field within the form, this could be set for form completed, expiry dates and more.
Checkbox
Customised multiple choice box which you can choose the options that you click.
Choice
You can input a custom list of options which will be available as a drop-down menu.
Decimal
Allows number input, as well as the ability to add monetary values into the form.
Document*
This custom field type allows users to upload a document to the form and supporting evidence. See the supported files types page for details on the files you can upload.
Hierarchical Association*
Control for linking records from multiple entities in a hierarchical manner. It is recommended to put this on a tab on its own. If you need information on creating tabs please see the creating and amending checklists article.
Image
This field allows users to add images to the form. See the supported files types page for details on the image files you can use.
Information Text*
Similar to the alert text, this can be added to the form for larger pieces of informational text. The text will be highlighted in red.
Look Up Data
The look-up data option can be used to select data from a pre-determined list that already exists in your QUOODA® database. For example, staff within your QUOODA® users list.
Numeric
The Numeric field type is similar to the decimal field. This option does not allow decimal points though, just numbers.
Geo Location
Allow users to add a geo-location to their form, this will pull in the data from the inbuilt location data of your device.
Rich Text Editor*
This is for large text volumes, similar to pages or Microsoft Word.
Table
This allows users to create tables within their form, they can populate this with information, for example, meter readings. You have a choice of field types for each column within a table which are listed below:
- Calendar
- Choice
- Checkbox*
- Decimal
- Numeric
- TextArea
- TextBox
- Time
- Yes/No/NA/Unqualified Option*
Custom Entity Table*
A two-dimensional structure that contains multiple controls associated with other custom entities.
Task Generator
Allow task creation upon specific settings, for example, if a user selects no then a task will be generated and saved into the system. This field type also allows for images to be added to support the response. You will be able to add an image once any response has been chosen and a comment has been left.
Text Area
For larger volumes of text such as paragraphs. You can use carriage returns in this option. The ability to add images to this field type is also available. You can enable images via the ‘Allow Images’ option on the ‘Details’ tab within the field settings. If enabled, images will only become active once a response is given to the field.
Text Box
For smaller areas of text, just a few words. Limited to one line. The ability to add images to this field type is also available. You can enable images via the ‘Allow Images’ option on the ‘Details’ tab within the field settings. If enabled, images will only become active once a response is given to the field.
Time
The time function will allow you to add a clock functionality. Most commonly used to record the time of the form completion.
Yes/No/NA
This is a yes-no question box, not customizable the same way that the choice field would be. The ability to add images to this field type is also available. You can enable images via the ‘Allow Images’ option on the ‘Details’ tab within the field settings. If enabled, images will only become active once a response is given to the field.
Unformatted Help Text*
This is just a field that will allow the input of help text, you can add this in to break up sections of your form or guide users.
