This guide will show how to search and filter within QUOODA to quickly and easily find and isolate your data.
For this example, we will be using the Tasks Widget. However, the same principles apply to any data table within QUOODA. When you open the Task Widget, a table is presented which has different headings in a row across the top and the relevant information in columns below that.
Using the search bar
Above the data table, there is a search bar. This is a general search of the whole table.
Moving Columns
You can move these columns around and change the order by simply clicking, holding, and dragging them.
Adding or Removing Columns
You can also add’ or remove’ columns as required:
- Select the black arrow,
- Choose columns
- Tick or untick depending to add and remove columns
Adding and removing columns will only impact your view; your colleagues will retain their own unique choice of columns. Any changes will be automatically saved for the next time you load that table.
TOP TIP: There is only so much space available on the screen. Avoid adding all the columns to your view and concentrate on the data that has the most value to you. You can always swap other columns in, should you need them for a specific search at any point.
Filtering Columns
To filter within specific columns:
- Click the arrow at the top of the column you wish to filter by
- Choose the filter option
- Choose the parameter of the filter.
- Enter the text to filter by
In this example, I want to filter by Task Type, and I want to see all the Compliance Tasks, so I will choose ‘filter’ ‘contains’ ‘compliance’.
The filter option has a wide variety of options:
- Is equal to - This is an exact match
- Contains - If the word or sentence contains any of the information entered
- Starts With - You can enter the first letter, and it will display all options
- Is blank - If the field is blank
Filtering more than one column
You may find that you want to filter multiple columns at once to drill down on the specific information you need. This is very simple to do. At the top of the data table near the search bar, you will see a dropdown that says ‘Match Any Filters’, change this to ‘Match All Filters’.
From there, we can then select another drop-down arrow from another column and link this to our already filtered task type. In this example, I want to filter by Task Status, and I want to filter so I can see all the compliance tasks that are completed.
Clearing Search Filter
To clear the filter and get back to the original view, we simply click the ‘Clear Search Filter’ button at the top left of the data table.
